JRC in Greece

Maritime communications are a dynamically expanding sector, covering the need of shipping companies for cost effective, reliable and online connection between ship and office. On 31 January 2008, Japan Radio Company (JRC), one of the market leading manufacturers of navigation and communication equipment, specifically organized a high profile, not to miss, seminar in the heart of Athens for the Greek market, one of the word’s major shipping countries.

JRC addressed many important topics including the launch of new equipment and a product development policy that reflects the latest IMO rules and regulations. With the business partially driven by IMO regulations, JRC is aware that commercial operators are looking for durability and longevity in the equipment that they choose. The constant process of development and evaluation that JRC undertakes to meet, and exceed, future IMO requirements, and the benefits of advancements in technology, are a key factor in providing improved safety at sea.

“A range of new JRC products are coming in the near future” said Mr. Harry Miyashita, General Manager of JRC Europe. “The new JRC products have common design and modern user interface. The new products include MF/HF, DGPS, ECDIS, IMO radars, and FleetBroadband products.”

After the successful seminar, JRC hosted a drinks reception that proved to be a perfect opportunity for everyone to meet one another and share their thoughts. JRC was proud to have had so many major Greek re-sellers & ship-owners in attendance at the seminar, something that was key to the success of the event.
