JRC exposes latest GX antenna developments

Tokyo, Japan, 25 March 2014 – JRC is pleased to update industry on the progress of its Global Xpress (GX) antenna development, for the next generation of high speed satellite communications infrastructure being delivered from Inmarsat.

Designed specifically to meet the demanding Ka-band environment, JRC engineers used a sandwich style, special honeycomb structure of just a few millimeters for a lightweight but ultra-strong radome. With a lighter dome structure, a lower center of gravity was achieved, providing for more stable communications under harsh operating conditions.

The new Global Xpress antenna from JRC will now function as a solution rather than just an individual communication tool, serving a specific goal for our customers. Installation will be quick and easy, with such a lightweight antenna no crane should be necessary, keeping the vessel’s downtime to a minimum. Onboard setup will be just as simple as it is today for FleetBroadband.

It is clear that JRC’s new GX antenna will offer a diverse and flexible communication solution, applicable and relevant to different markets on different types of vessels. Offering the users enhanced levels of communications speed, quality and service, together with JRC’s enviable reputation for manufacturing quality, product reliability and customer support.
