JRC introduces Multi Info Display

Tokyo, Japan, 9 July – Japan Radio Co., Ltd. (JRC) has announced the introduction of a new generation 4.5-inch Multi Info Display (MID) NWZ-4610 that can be used as a multifunctional screen, speed log and GPS.

The display is aesthetically designed, compact and cost-effective, complementing the 5.7-inch series already in the market. Given its format, these displays can be easily integrated on board smaller ships, such as work vessels and trawlers, and as compact repeaters on large ships.

If the power cable to the screen is connected to two supplementary screens during installation of the 4.5-inch display, this can lower costs. Fewer cables are needed and so the installation time is reduced. A maximum of ten displays can be linked together for data exchange.

Since the displays are coupled, the screens automatically change if, for instance, one display is dimmed. In addition to fewer cables, the long lifetime of the LCD screen – some 50,000 hours – helps to reduce costs.
