Modular tugboat bridge ensures all round visibility

Rotterdam, The Netherlands, JRC and Alphatron Marine will demonstrate during SMM 2014 its latest flagship AlphaBridge concept. Having always been at the forefront with respect to ergonomically designed ships bridges and a track record of more than 300 realized installations, AlphaBridge will be available for viewing at the stand.

Although the working environment on a tugboat can be more dangerous than on a traditional sea going vessel a tugboat wheelhouse and its safety considerations was not considered to be one of the main priorities, until now.

Recent accidents and case studies have proven the need of another way of working and new regulations will come into place, which includes extensive training programs. Just two years ago, the ergonomic AlphaBridge tugboat was introduced, being the result of a design study together with some of the biggest tugboat operators in the world. This modular tugboat variant ensures all round visibility and ship control without compromise.

This concept generated a lot of interest and resulted in the first orders in 2013 to be installed on 6 Rotortugs currently under construction at Damen Shipyards Netherlands and Cheyo Lee Shipyards in Hong Kong.

A special dual version of the AlphaBridge tugboat concept is also selected for the newly Robert Allan designed ART 100-42 infield support vessels recently ordered at ASL shipyard in Singapore which after completion will be used to assist Shell’s giant, world’s first floating liquefied natural gas Prelude FLNG production vessel. We would be pleased if you visit us at this premium event as we showcase our AlphaBridge tugboat variant as well as other premium bridge solution, driven by the same concept and mindset of harmonizing control and advancing navigation technology.
